Productivity Hack: Commuting Tips

13 Feb 2019

Not many enjoy the perks that come with virtual offices and remote working. For most people, it is about commuting every day to get to work and back. Commuting may be normal for many but you can definitely see the benefits that come with working at home (or anywhere in the world for that matter).

That is why here are some helpful hacks that should help you with commuting and make the whole experience be even better. Also, it would serve as a good productivity hack. Commuting may take time so here are some tips that you can use so that this activity would be productive for you.

Be comfortable. Wear comfort.

For many people, it is all about dressing to impress. However, this can be quite difficult especially for commuters. So one of the top tips that commuters should do would be to get yourself some really comfortable shoes. Shoes are really important when commuting as this is what you use to stand to wait for your ride, walking to work, and everything else that comes with getting to work.

There are really wonderful yet comfortable shoes out there that you can wear to work. If you need to power dress, the best thing to do would be to pack those high heels or leather shoes in your bag and wear them when you are already at work. That way, your feet would thank you a lot. Nobody at work would know that you have comfortable shoes with you.

Let the music be your companion.

Another good thing that you can have with you would be some real feel-good music. You can have this in your MP3 player or right on your phone. Just make sure that you have headsets or earphones on as not everybody would really love to listen to what you are listening to. You can create your own world while you are commuting. The good thing about listening to music you enjoy is that it helps you pass the time and you would not feel so stressed out even before you reach work. The music can also help you prepare for the upcoming workday so you would be motivated and inspired to do more. Think of music as your companion who is making sure that you are all good to start doing work.

Learn via podcasts or audiobooks.

To each his own. And in this case, you may want to take the time to learn something new. You can have podcasts or audiobooks saved on your phone and you can listen to them while you are walking to work or taking the bus or whatever way it is you take to get to work. That way, you can listen to something new and informative which is a good way of learning. You can brush up on old lessons that you think may be useful in your job right now. Or you can learn new skills with the information that you can get from these podcasts or audiobooks.
