You do not have to wait for Friday to arrive for you to belt your heart out at your weekly karaoke date with your colleagues. You can always belt out your favourite tunes right now, even if you are at work. Well, unless you work in a contact centre or in an office frequented by a lot of clients or customers, then there is no stopping you from singing out all those tunes. Yes, singing at work is highly encouraged. There is no need for you to do a concert though – you can simply get your songs started even with a low volume.
As they say, singing can be quite viral. You can try and sing some Christmas song that everybody knows. Try “All I Want For Christmas Is You”. Right in the middle of February. It does not matter. Soon enough, you can notice that all of your other colleagues are singing the same tune, too, without them realizing that they are singing a Christmas song. Oh yes. That is how fast singing can be spread to other people. You can use it at work. And soon, you will be having a whole office singing to really good tunes.
How do you feel when you are right at home and you just start hitting those notes? Well, you may have missed a lot of them but it does not matter. What is important is just how you are enjoying singing. How do you feel singing those songs? A lot of people say that singing is a really good thing to do because it makes them feel really good. So same thing for singing while at work. It can help bring you and your colleagues’ spirits up to make you feel good and do even better at work.
Now, if you are one of those workers who do their work remotely or have virtual offices, singing would not be a problem, especially if they work at home. Since you are working in your own space with nobody else around, then nobody should be bothered by your daily concerts. Or your song choices. Or maybe even your dance moves that come with your impromptu concerts.
Studies have shown that singing is good for your health – physically, mentally, and emotionally. Your lungs get a good workout and your entire body gets a good workout as well especially if you pair it with some fancy dance moves. That’s how singing helps you physically.
Studies have also found out that singing is good for one’s mental health. It helps people use their brains to remember lyrics and tunes. Plus, there have been studies that show how our brains light up when we are singing, playing an instrument, or listening to music.
On the emotional side, music has been known to be an avenue for changing one’s mood. It can make people happy and it can also make people feel other different emotions. That is why singing while at work can boost your emotions, that is if you choose the right songs.
